Medical therapies
Having used and evaluated a number of therapeutic approaches (PRF, exosomes, mesotherapy and others), we now favour the treatments whose efficacy is best established. Finasteride and minoxidil are the mainstays of medical treatment for miniaturisation and hair regrowth. PRP is used mainly after a transplant, to support healing and the recovery of the scalp, while we keep watch for new therapies whose value is firmly demonstrated.
Our medical therapies
Finasteride
Propecia®, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that blocks the conversion of testosterone into DHT. For men only.

Applied to the scalp or, off-label, taken by mouth at a low dose: it prolongs the hair growth phase and thickens miniaturised hairs.

Avodart®, an inhibitor of type 1 and type 2 5-alpha reductase: at 0.5 mg daily, it lowers DHT more strongly than finasteride, and its efficacy on regrowth is increasingly well established. It is prescribed off-label in this indication; at low, spaced doses, side effects are usually minimal. For men only: mention this treatment before any PSA test, as it roughly halves PSA, and do not donate blood until six months after stopping; a pregnant woman must not handle the capsules.
PRP
Platelet-rich plasma, injected after a transplant to support healing and the recovery of the scalp.
